We will be going to the 3rd annual School Haas Rocks (womens basketball game) @ UC Berkeley on Friday, Nov 18th.  Please complete the field trip form (parent signature, medical info., teacher signatures) + submit $2.00 for the price of your ticket.

WE NEED PARENT CHAPERONES to join us for the majority of the day.  We depart at 9:30 and will return by 3:00.

Requirements for Students and Parent/Guardian Letter of Interest : Washington DC - April 16-20, 2017

Student Letter

Write a letter explaining why you would like to go Washington, DC with a Close Up on April 16-20, 2017.

Your letter must be a minimum of three paragraphs.
Your letter must be typed and free of grammatical and spelling errors.
(Please have someone proofread your letter before turning it in)

Please include answers to the following questions:

• Why do you want to go?
• How does this trip connect to your interest?  (In this paragraph write about your interest in history, government, debate, learning, community, leadership, etc.) 
• What do you hope to gain from this experience? 

Parent/Guardian Letter

Write a letter explaining why you would like your child to go to Washington DC with Close Up on April 16-20, 2017.

Please include answers to the following questions: 

• Why do you want your child to go? 
• What can your child add to the group's experience?
• What do you hope your child will gain from this experience?
• If your family is requesting financial support please include a paragraph that explains the needs of your family.

Students with parents who are non-English speaking, please interview your parent and submit their responses in writing.

Extra support for the Letter of Interest will be available at lunch, room 110 Fri, 10/7 & Thurs, 10/13 and after school in room 110, Tues 10/11 & Thurs 10/13
